(There) is a God who…(chose) to make us in his image…
In order to know what that image is, we have not to search our own ideas of infinity, eternity and divinity, but…(we must) know the original of that image in order then to know what it is…that is an authentic reflection of his.
This is Tom Smail in Like Father, Like Son. I love that, even though we would be arrogant enough to think that we could create a picture of God through our own high-sounding ideas of the transcendent, the Father knew that we’d need a real-life example.
He sent us Jesus – the image of the invisible God, the exact representation of his being.
Don’t you just love that too?!
