I picked up a book by Savage and Boyd-MacMillan called ‘The Human Face of the Church’ from the college library the other week. It was on the display unit. I had noticed it the first time I passed the display unit but resisted its call to me…
However, the second time, I succumbed and picked it up! It has now made it my lounge floor and briefly into my hands as I’ve flicked through it. Here’s a great quotation about leadership from the book:
Truly great Christian leaders are spiritually mature. The movers and the shakers in the church today demonstrate that some can rise against the dictates of the ‘spirit of the organisation’….They have a security deep in themselves that is usually born through adversity, carved through hours of (desperate) prayer.
I really want to be that kind of leader!
